Adoption Information Center
                 About Us
Realizing that there was a critical need for a neutral information, resource and referral agency that adresses the concerns of individuals and families interested in adoption, several Los Angeles adoptive parent support group leaders formed the nonprofit Adoption Information Center in May, 1998.  They all had been through the adoption process and knew firsthand what pre and post adopters needed.  The group took their combined adoption knowledge, determined their Mission and established the Adoption Information Center.   AIC is an agency governed by adoptive families, for adoptive families.

It is important to the Board of Directors that the adoptive parents served be active stakeholders in the organization's development and programs.  It frequently calls upon AIC member families to participate in discussion groups and presentations throughout the community.  AIC also encourages adoptive parent's feedback in evaluating its Mission.  Adoption Information Center welcomes the adoption community to visit its Headquarters and view materials in AIC's relaxed, welcoming, neutral environment.  AIC encourages interested individuals to become educated about adoption issues to ensure a positive adoption outcome.  Adoption Information Center provides gratis personal, unbiased support pre and post placement, per each specific adoption situation.
