Recruitment of Adoptive Families for Severely Medically Fragile Children
You may have read in past Adoption Information Center Newsletter issues about children born at hospitals with severe medical conditions. After being notified by birth families, social workers, adoption attorneys or other sources, Adoption Information Center immediately goes into action mode to assess the situation and recruit capable, qualified, loving, adoptive families for these little angels.

Without permanent adoptive families, these children would enter foster care, remain in medical facilities or group homes. Adoption Information Center has been able to successfully find homes for those children with heart problems, Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, Optic Nerve Hypoplasia, Down's Syndrom, Autism and a host of other diagnosis.

Who would want to take on this thankless, emotional and physical hardwork of lifelong parenting to these babies?
Many qualified families. In this time of chaos, Adoption Information Center has been blessed to see the best in those who have a special calling to provide loving, quality care for those children whom no one else wants to care for. Parents who will show them tenderness and kiss them goodnight when no one else wants to. These are families that are not looking to adopt the "perfect child," they are looking to adopt a child that truly needs a lifelong family.

Adoption Information Center has determined that to recruit one adoptive family for a medically fragile child costs $2,074. Thousands of dollars less than a placement agency's cost for similar service - and yet tens of thousands less than a medical facility would receive for providing care to a medically fragile child.

Perhaps your church, workplace or community group can assist with this endeavor. It is a small amount to make a huge difference for a child.
