| "I hadn't planned on giving my child up for adoption. After talking to Rick and Sue many times, I decided this was the best idea. They were always there when I had any questions or if I just wanted to talk about the situation. They helped me find an amazing family for my son. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I remember a time I had to go to the court in Los Angeles to sign adoption papers. At the time I was living in Riverside. They drove out there to pick me up and take me to Los Angeles. They took me out to lunch, and made me feel supported during that tough time. To this day, everytime I call needing pictures or any other assistance, they greet me as an old friend and are willing to help with anything I need. I would recommend Adoption Information Center to anyone who is in need of adoption services." | |||||||||||||
| "My name is A and I am 32 years old. I came to stay at His Nesting Place along with my four year old daughter in 2009. Before I came here I was an alcoholic and an indoor affluent prostitute (I didn't walk the streets). When I found out I was pregnant I thought about abortion because I justified it with a list of excuses and rationing. I look back now and see that only the devil could have clouded my darkened mind to believe the lies. One day a friend spoke firmly and said to me, "Honest to God, you're going to kill your baby just so that you can be comfortable?" That was the wake up call that I needed to seek help. After searching the internet, I found a place called His Nesting Place. They referred me to Adoption Information Center and this agency helped me and my daughter move to His Nesting Place. Adoption Information Center helped with transporation, all living expenses and medical referrals. Adoption Information Center also presented many families for me to choose from. When I first came to His Nesting Place I was angry, bitter and rebellious because I was so used to getting my way and keeping control of my money and time. I wasn't used to listening and respecting Godly authority. One day the director, Mrs. Judy, gave me a very firm ultimatum. "If you want to stay here you must stop complaining and start cooperating or you will just have to go back to where you came from." "Go back," I thought, "to what - alcohol, drugs, prostitution, and being away from my daughter and having a messed up life?" That was the jolt or "second wake up call" I really needed. One of the greatest gifts I ever received was to find a family to be able to care for and adopt my son who was born in March 2010. My goals for the future are to work on adoption laws for my home state. I feel very strongly that with a new law, I will be able to help other women choose adoption like I did. I am going to go to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor. I will be volunteering at the Christian Mission in my area and I truly want to be involved in pro-life work as well." *This young woman is now married and has kept clean and sober. |
